We’re very lucky Vagabonds; we get to taste, and occasionally drink, far more libations than most. We can confidently say that there are a huge amount of very good wines out there across all sorts of flavour spectrums. From the elegiac misfits via protean esoterica and equanimous masterpieces there’s always an irresistible pull to the wines that stop you in your tracks and make you gasp, prattle at length or simply go wide-eyed in wonderment.
We’re sure to keep these coming in 2015 and putting you in the forefront of great wine experiences. Here are a few of our picks of the year. Bring on 2015!
Mark Flounders, Charlotte Street
2013 Shaw and Smith Sauvignon Blanc Adelaide Hills, South East Australia
‘Reminds me of home, being from Adelaide, I’m proud to show this to anyone who enjoys a Sauv, French or otherwise. It’s elegant with a great level of complexity all the while over delivering on value for money. I cant wait for the 2014, get around it!’
‘Awesome stuff, I’m still buzzing from it’
‘Drunk with some friends after a sake tasting. Good fun with crazy people.’
Colin Thorne, Fulham
‘Natural to the core with textural brilliance and an ability to be surprising, confusing and both right and wrong at the same time. Pure double-thought in a glass.’
2012 Sangreal by Farr, Geelong, South East Australia
